Lyricist, Rapper, DJ, Producer and Actor Nathaniel Hall is most commonly known by his musical alias, ‘Afrika Baby Bam’.

Having co-founded the legendary ‘Native Tounges’ hip hop super group, named ‘A Tribe Called Quest’ (and Q-Tip!), and of course pioneered Hip Hop into it’s oft-cited “golden era” with his own group, ‘Jungle Brothers’, Bam is something of a hip hop legend.  He was inducted in the Hip Hop Hall of Fame in 2025.

His socially conscious positivity and eclectic sampling led JB’s first album “Straight Out the Jungle”  (1988) to receive a perfect 5-of-five rating from Allmusic and 5mics in The Source Magazine.  The album included dancefloor classic ‘I’ll House You’.

The follow up ‘Done By The Forces of Nature’ (Warner Bros, 1989) is considered  a masterpiece, “One of hip-hop's most imaginative, engaging records” - as The Chicago Tribune's Rick Reger aptly put it. Not to mention it received a 10 rating in NME and 5 stars in Mojo.

Bam has produced records for Neneh Cherry, Stereo MCs, Caron Wheeler, Monie Love and more. He also remixed tracks for Quincy Jones.

On top of all this, Nathaniel has acted alongside T.C Carson in the Michael Schultz directed ‘Livin’ Large’, and various music videos with fellow Native Tongues De La Soul & A Tribe Called Quest.
